Years and years bookstores are looking for a way who to get amazon under control. Selling books online is just cheaper and more easy to purchase for a customer. Books are a item you just buy because you need them or think you like them. It is a product you can not try before you buy, the trying of a book is the complete fun of the product so for most people it do’s not matter if they buy the book online or in a store.
However now the ballgame is changing, at least for some time. People are already used to buy a book online and receiving it at home. Now this is changing to the use of e-readers where you purchase a digital book or rent it for some time. For this a e-reader is needed and when purchasing a item like a e-reader you tend to want to have a try before you buy. So this is something else as buying a book online.
As the current market price for a e-reader is quite high in comparison with a book people like to hold it, try it, see it before they buy. Amazon has a e-reader named kindle however the issue with this is that you will not be able to feel it, play wit it and test as you possibly can do with a product in a shop. Because of this and the fact that Barnes & Nobles has released a E-reader named Nook it could very well be that the sales for the Amazon Kindle will be not as good as expected a couple of months back.
Barnes & Nobles has the advantage that they have access to a wide network of shops where they will be able to show the new e-reader and make the crowed enthusiastic. What the true outcome will be on the battle of Barnes & Nobles verses Amazon we will only be able to tell after the holiday season. it will however be very interesting to see what is making the harts and minds more tick. A online product which you can only see in a online store or a product you can test and play with in a shop.
The issue with this post is that I have been writing it 4 weeks before today and I have saved it offline. At this moment already the Kindle is sold out. So we can state that the Barnes & Nobles way if more effective.
